Hand writing:- When you write with a pen or pencil, you form each letter. You write each letter the way you want. There are at least two sides to everything. On the sad side it was tedious to write and some times the hand writings was so creative that it was difficult for others to read. Type-writing and printing:- In this stage we compromised our creativity with a set standard of type faces or glyphs. In a type-writer, the type face was usually restricted to one only. You see the same glyph for same character repeatedly. Thereby you make no mistake in recognizing the characters, as was the problem in handwriting (in some cases!). Word writing is similarly a step in this direction. Here words are composed with proper spelling and stored in dictionary. Computer has sufficient memory to store them in its memory, so when a word is wanted, it is sent to the pad as a whole. Writing with ClicknWrite:- The skill required is that of finding the right word. To get the right word you click (usual with left button of mouse) the character glyphs, according to the spelling of the word desired. Dictionary is sorted to match the clicked glyphs and displayed. As soon as you see your word (usually within 2 or 3 clicks) you click (again left click) the word in the displayed box to select it. You can modify it or send it to application pad. To send it you can use "double click" "right click" or simply click the enter button. |
