Writing in our language is not simple like Latin/English script. That is why it is called complex script. It may not be easy with Typewriter but for a computer it is not a problem. Let us see how.

Suppose you want to write the word CHANCHAL, meaning restless. The word is formed with basic characters such as the consonant CHA, followed by the consonant NYA. The consonant NYA has to connected with another consonant CHA in such a way that its inherent vowel sound is stripped. We do that by adding Hasanta after the consonant NYA. Finally added with the consonant LA.

So to make conjuncts or Juctakhor you click in this sequence.

Click CHA ... CHA appears in the composition box [চ ]

Click NYA  ... CHA followed by NYA appears in the composition box [চঞ ]

Click Hasanta  ....CHA followed by NYA followed by (or connected to NYA) Hasanta appears [চঞ্ ]

Click CHA ....you will find NYA is connected with CHA to make a juctakhor. Appears [চঞ্চ ]

Click LA .... the word CHANCHAL is formed in the composition box. [চঞ্চল ]

If the Bengali letters appear but not connected as supposed to be for Juctakhor, means your system supports Unicode but Bengali Unicode font is not selected or initialised for the affected text.
